How to freeze and reactivate a budget?

Only admin users can freeze or reactivate a budget.

How to freeze a budget

To freeze a budget, follow the steps below:

  1. On your Aspire dashboard, click "Budgets" in the left navigation bar (web app) or click "Menu" and choose "Budgets" (mobile app).

  2. Click on the budget you want to freeze

  3. Click on the next to the edit button

  4. Click "Freeze budget" and it's done

Notes: When you freeze a budget, all linked cards and submitted claims will be permanently cancelled. To avoid this, unlink the cards in the Cards section and settle the claims before freezing the budget.

How to reactivate a budget

  1. On your Aspire dashboard, click "Budgets" in the left navigation bar (web app) or click "Menu" and choose "Budgets" (mobile app).

  2. Click on "Status" filter, choose "Frozen", then click "Apply"​

  3. Click on the budget you want to reactivate

  4. Click on the green "Reactivate" button

You will then be prompted to make any editable changes (if you require), then click on the green "Reactivate Budget" button.

Your budget will now be ready for use again.
