Making a transfer

Admin and Finance users can send international transfers from the checking account by following the steps below:

  1. Click Checking Account under Funds

  2. Click on "Make a transfer"

  3. Choose “Pay a recipient” for single transfer or “Make payments in batch” for multiple transfers

  4. Click on “New recipient” or choose from any of the previously saved recipients

  5. Select the currency you’ll send, enter the required details, then click “Continue”.

    1. Account holder's name

    2. Transfer mode (International wire)

    3. Bank country

    4. Recipient type

    5. SWIFT Code/BIC

    6. Account Number

    7. Account Type (Checking or Savings)

    8. Recipient Address

    9. Other required transfer details by country

  6. Place the transfer amount, set the Intermediary fee [link to the SWIFT Fee FAQ section], then click “Continue”

  7. Add your transfer details such as the payment reference, category, budget and internal note, then click “Continue”

  8. Review your transfer and if all good, click “Submit”

Notes: To ensure a smooth transfer, we recommend confirming the exact name format with your beneficiary. Although omitting special characters in the Account Holder's name typically works, there is a slight possibility that the beneficiary's bank may reject the transfer due to a name discrepancy. Verifying this information in advance can help prevent any potential issues.

What name will be displayed as the sender of the transfer?

The sender's name will appear as registered on your Aspire account.

Transfer Fee & Rate

  • USD to USD Transfers sent via SWIFT (within or outside the US) cost USD 5.

  • FX transfers sent via SWIFT will be converted at the best rates and cost USD 5. FX rates and conversion as executed by Aspire, not Column N.A., Member FDIC.

However, please note that there may be intermediary bank fees deducted from the sent amount, which can range up to $60. There are 2 types of SWIFT Intermediary fee types you can choose:

Shared Charges (SHA)

You pay for the Remitting bank's charges (Aspire). Your recipient bears the charges of the Intermediary banks and their bank, which will be deducted from the remittance amount. Your recipient will receive the remaining balance. This is the most common type of charge, where each party bears their respective charges.

OUR charges (OUR)

Charges are borne by the Remitter (you). You bear the Remitting bank's charges and all the Intermediary banks' charges. You can fix the amount the recipient will receive by paying a small fee upfront.

To guarantee that the recipient receives the full amount, click the pen icon from the transfer screen, choose the OUR option, then click Save. This will cover the intermediary bank fee and cost USD 15 equivalent in total.

This is the option you should select when you are paying someone a salary or an invoice, and they must receive the exact amount.

Note: Beneficiary bank charges, if any, are still deducted from the amount sent.

Transfer Timeframe

International wire transfers are processed with a daily cutoff time of 1:30 PM PT.

Transfers initiated after this time or on non-banking days will be processed on the next banking day.
