Guide to MCP Audit Logs

Audit logs give Admin users a record of every action an AI client has performed on your business, who triggered it, and whether it succeeded.

Who can do this

  • Only Admin users can view audit logs.

  • Audit logs stay available even when MCP is disabled for your business.

  • If you are not an Admin, you can still see when an individual action was taken through an AI client. For more details, see the article: How to Tell if an Action Was Taken Through an AI Client.

How to view your audit logs

  1. On your Aspire dashboard, click "Settings" in the top navigation bar (web app)

  2. Click "MCP" then "View audit logs".

How to find a specific entry

  • Use the search bar above the list. It searches every field.

  • Use the filter on any column to narrow the list.

  • Click "All filters" to set several filters at once in a single window.

Search and filters work together rather than replacing each other, and they run across your full log history, not just the page you are looking at.

Can non-admins see audit logs?

No. Audit logs are Admin only.

What does a "Failed" result mean?

The action did not complete. This includes actions refused because the user did not have permission.

Can I click into a row for more detail?

No. Rows are not clickable and there is no detail view.

Why do I see the same action listed twice?

Each attempt is recorded separately, even when the same person uses the same tool from the same client.

Can I search across all my logs, not just this page?

Yes. Search and filters run across your full history and can be combined.

Can I still see audit logs if MCP is disabled?

Yes. Audit logs stay available even after MCP is disabled for your business.
