Guide to creating Aspire Virtual Cards

Which countries can request virtual cards?

We can only provide virtual cards to companies incorporated in Singapore.


Which Sources of Funds Can Be Used to Create Virtual Cards?

You can create Aspire Virtual Cards by selecting your Aspire SGD, USD, or Advance Limit account (if any) as the source of funds. At this time, the Aspire EUR and GBP accounts are not yet supported.


Creating a Virtual Card

Admin users have the ability to create their own cards without any approval needed.

On the other hand, Finance and Employee users must obtain approval from the Admin/Budget Owner before their card is created.

Note: For security reasons, you can only view the details of a card that has been assigned to you. Please note that even Admin users are unable to access card details of other users.

Admin users

  1. On your Aspire dashboard, click "Cards" in the left navigation bar (web app) or click "Menu" and choose "Cards" (mobile app).

  2. Click "New card" located on the top right-hand side.

  3. Select the Cardholder and customize the Card name.

  4. Select “Virtual Card” under card type.

  5. Select the Source account for your card.

  6. Set a Spend limit:

    1. Enter the amount

    2. Choose the refresh frequency: Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly, or one-time.

  7. Link the card to a budget (optional).

  8. Click "View more spend controls" to apply more controls for your card:

    1. Freeze automatically: Set automatic card freezing based on transaction count or specific date.

    2. Allow specific currencies only: Specify allowed currencies for card transactions.

    3. Merchant category restrictions: Specify the merchant category restrictions.

    4. Specific merchant restrictions: Specify specific merchant restrictions.

  9. Assign a category for your card.

  10. Click "View more reporting options" to:

    1. Fill out other reporting fields set up by your business

    2. Exclude the card from auto reminders

  11. Click "Continue".

  12. Pick a color for your card.

  13. Click "Confirm" to proceed with your virtual card creation.

Finance and Employee users

  1. On your Aspire dashboard, click "Cards" in the left navigation bar (web app) or click "Menu" and choose "Cards" (mobile app).

  2. Click "Request a card" located on the top right-hand side.

  3. Edit the card's name.

  4. Select “Virtual Card” under card type.

  5. Under "Purpose" include a reason for your card request and attach any supporting documents.

  6. Choose the preferred currency for your card.

  7. Set a spend limit:

    1. Enter the amount

    2. Choose the refresh frequency: Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly, or one-time.

  8. Link the card to a budget (optional).

  9. Click "View more spend controls" to apply more controls for your card:

    1. Merchant category restrictions: Specify the merchant category restrictions.

    2. Specific merchant restrictions: Specify merchant-specific restrictions.

  10. Assign a category for your card.

  11. Click "View more reporting options" to:

    1. Fill out other reporting fields set up by your business

    2. Exclude the card from auto reminders

  12. Click "Continue".

  13. Click "Yes, request my card now" to submit your card request.

Your request will now go to the Admin of the account for approval, or if you selected a budget, it will go to the Budget Owners for approval.


How many cards can I create?

  • Basic plan: 200 Virtual Cards per user

  • Premium plan: 300 Virtual cards per user

Note: You can create up to 50 Virtual Cards in the Aspire app. To create more than 50 cards, please contact our Support team through the Aspire app for assistance.


Can I convert my virtual card to a physical Card?

Currently, we are unable to convert any virtual cards you have created on your Aspire Account into a physical card.
