Guide to Auto Transfer Rules for SGD Debit Account

Updated over a month ago

How does it work?

Auto Transfer Rules allow Admin users to set up rules to automatically transfer funds between their Aspire SGD accounts based on balance changes. This feature is ideal for those managing multiple SGD Debit accounts.

If the selected account has insufficient funds for the set transfer amount, only the available balance will be transferred.

How many rules can I create?

The maximum number of rules you can create depends on the number of SGD accounts in your Aspire account. We follow an 'n-1' rule, meaning if you have 4 SGD accounts, you can create up to 3 rules. This prevents the cycling of funds between accounts.

What if the top-up SGD Account has insufficient funds?

If there are insufficient funds, only the available amount will be transferred.

How to set the Auto Transfer Rules

1. On your Aspire dashboard, click "Policies" in the left navigation bar (web app) or click "Menu" and choose "Policies" (mobile app). Choose “Auto Transfer Rules.

2. Clickon the top of the page

3. In the "IF" section, select the SGD Account to monitor and set a balance condition:

  • Less than - Triggers a top-up if the balance falls below the set amount.

  • Greater than - Triggers a deduction if the balance exceeds the set amount.

  • Not between - Triggers a top-up or deduction if the balance falls outside a set range. (e.g., if the rule is 'Not between 20 and 30,' a top-up happens below 20, a deduction above 30, and no action within the range.)

4. In the "THEN" section, choose the SGD Account that will top up the account in the "IF" section and set the top-up amount.

5. Click to create another "IF" and "THEN" condition.

Note:

  • Some SGD Accounts may not appear in the 'IF' and 'THEN' dropdowns based on your rules to prevent fund cycling.

  • Rules are arranged in order of priority. To change the priority of rules, just click the arrow button right next to Sort priority.

6. Click “Update Policy” to save your changes.

How to Identify Auto Transfer Rule Transactions

Once set, the Auto Transfer Rule triggers when your SGD Account balance changes.

To identify these transactions, check the reference column in your Transactions list—it will be labelled “Auto-transfer.”
