Wise Integration Steps
Aspire uses Wise as its FX transfer partner. The first time a user tries to pay a recipient in a foreign currency, Aspire requires the business's Wise account to be connected before the transfer can proceed. This section walks through that one-time connection alongside adding a new international recipient.
Note:
Only businesses registered in Singapore can integrate the Aspire SGD Account with Wise. To explore alternative international payment options from your SGD Account, please click here.
Both the Aspire user (must be an Admin user) and the Wise user involved in this integration must be the same person.
Admin users can follow the step-by-step guide below on integrating Aspire SGD Account with Wise:
1. From the dashboard, click your SGD account and Make/Submit a transfer, then choose Pay a recipient (used to send money directly to a recipient's bank account, as opposed to Exchange currency, which only moves money between your own Aspire accounts).
2. On the Recipient details step (Step 2 of 4), the currency defaults to your home currency (SGD) with local bank/PayNow fields.
3. Click the currency selector and switch it to a foreign currency (e.g. USD). Since this is now an international/FX transfer, Aspire needs the Wise connection to continue.
4. Aspire displays a one-time prompt: "One last step to start making FX transfers — connect to our partner." Click Have a Wise account? → Connect it to Aspire (or Continue if you don't have one yet, to create one).
5. You are redirected to Wise's authorization page. Review the permissions Aspire is requesting (account details, accounts, transfers, recipients) and click Give access.
Note: This step happens on Wise's own domain. Aspire redirects back automatically once access is granted.
6. Back on Aspire, you'll be asked to set the account purpose — a one-time, required field describing why the business needs FX transfers (e.g., paying suppliers, paying rent, distributing dividends). This does not affect your ability to make transfers; it's for compliance records only.
7. Aspire confirms the Wise account is linked, and you can now make transfers to 50+ countries.
8. Continuing the original "Pay a recipient" flow, choose the account currency for the new recipient from the full currency list.
9. Fill in the New recipient form. For a USD recipient inside the US, provide the recipient type, account holder name, routing number, account number, account type (Checking/Savings), country, and address, then click Continue.
Note: Selecting Outside US (or a different currency/country altogether) will show a different set of required fields, such as IBAN, SWIFT/BIC, or a local bank code, depending on the destination country.
Integrating Wise with Second Aspire Account
If you have multiple Aspire accounts for different businesses, you can link them to one Wise account. The Wise account must have multiple business accounts matching your business's UENs.
Follow the steps below to successfully integrate your second Aspire account with your existing Wise account (for Admins only):
Login to Wise and create a business account for your other business (if you don't have it yet)
Open Aspire. select your un-integrated Aspire account.
Go to SGD account, click 'Make a transfer' and select a foreign currency.
Choose 'New Recipient' and click on 'Connect to Aspire'
Select your second or newly created Wise business account and follow the steps to complete the setup.
Troubleshooting Wise Integration Issues
Why is Wise integration unavailable for my account?
Wise integration may be unavailable or deactivated for two reasons:
Business Activity Not Supported
Wise does not support certain business activities as outlined in Wise's Acceptable Use Policy. If your business falls under these restricted categories, you will not be able to integrate Wise with your Aspire account.
Risk Assessment Review
Following a compliance or risk review, Wise integration may be deactivated if your business activity does not align with our partner's risk appetite. Due to compliance requirements, we cannot provide specific details about individual assessments.
What happens to my Wise integration?
Your Aspire SGD account remains active for local SGD transactions
FX transfers through Wise will no longer be available
Any pending payments or remaining balances in your Wise account will be canceled and returned using the original payment method
Alternative Solutions
You can still process international transfers using our alternative FX partner. To get started:
Submit the Transfer Request Form.
Our team will contact you shortly after form submission.
Your account balance is $0
When you perform the integration for the first time, do ensure that your account has a balance above $0. Otherwise, you will face an error message preventing you from making a transfer.
