How to Create a Contract of Record (COR) for a Contractor

Before You Begin

Before creating a COR, ensure you have:

  • Registered interest and received COR access in your Aspire account

  • Gathered the contractor's information


Creating a COR for a Contractor

  1. Log in to your Aspire account.

  2. Click "Employer of record" in the left navigation bar.

  3. Click "Go to Aspire EOR".

  4. Navigate to the "People" tab.

  5. Click "Add People".

  6. Select "Contractor".

  7. Select the contractor agreement:

    1. Fixed rate: For contracts that have a fixed rate for each payment cycle.

    2. Pay as you go: For contracts that require time sheets or work submissions each payment cycle.

    3. Milestone: For contracts with milestones that get paid each time they're completed.

How to Create a Fixed Rate Contract

Adding personal details

  1. Select your team information:

    1. Entity: A legal structure within your organisation that is established to conduct business.

    2. Group: A category for organizing workers within your organization (used for payroll, compliance, and reporting)

  2. Enter your contractor's personal details:

    1. Legal first name

    2. Legal last name

    3. Contract name

    4. Contractor's tax residence:

    5. Contractor's citizenship: The country where the contractor holds citizenship.

  3. Enter your contractor's emails:

    1. Personal email

    2. Work email (Optional)

  4. Enter the workspace information:

    1. Manager (Optional)

    2. Report (Optional)

    3. External worker ID (Optional)

  5. Enter the organizational structure:

    1. Department (Optional)

    2. Teams (Optional)

  6. Select your hiring objective.

Defining role details

  1. Enter the role details:

    1. Role

    2. Seniority level: Select the appropriate level for this role

    3. Scope of work

      1. Provide a summary of duties, accountabilities, and expectations

      2. You may use one of our pre-populated job scope templates or create your own.

Set payment and dates

  1. Define the payment rate:

    1. Select the currency

    2. Enter the payment amount

  2. Add additional recurring payments (Optional).

  3. Select the invoice policy.

  4. Select the worker’s start and end date (if the contract is for a set period):

  5. Select the first payment date and the payment amount.

  6. Add additional on-target payments (Optional).

Add Coverage

  1. Add coverage to stay compliant and avoid legal risks:

    1. Full coverage by Deel: Deel as Hiring Entity

    2. Coverage up to $25k: Includes legal fees and tax penalties

    3. No coverage

  2. Select agreement:

    1. Use the standard Deel agreement

    2. Use a custom template

    3. Use your own agreement

  3. Compliance documents: Request the contractor to upload the required or optional compliance documents as per their country's local laws.

  4. Set a withholding tax for the contact (Optional).

  5. Add additional documents for the contract.

  6. Add a special clause on the contract to outline the terms of a special scenario.

Adding benefits and extras

  1. Add optional benefits:

    1. Health insurance

    2. Co-working space membership

    3. Equity and tokens

    4. Background check

Review and Sign

  1. Click "Review and sign" to sign the contract.

  2. Click "Invite contractor" to invite the contractor to sign the contract.

The contract will only be activated when both parties have signed.


How to Create a Pay-As-You-Go Contract

Adding personal details

  1. Select your team information:

    1. Entity: A legal structure within your organisation that is established to conduct business.

    2. Group: A category for organizing workers within your organization (used for payroll, compliance, and reporting)

  2. Enter your contractor's personal details:

    1. Legal first name

    2. Legal last name

    3. Contract name

    4. Contractor's tax residence:

    5. Contractor's citizenship: The country where the contractor holds citizenship.

  3. Enter your contractor's emails:

    1. Personal email

    2. Work email (Optional)

  4. Enter the workspace information:

    1. Manager (Optional)

    2. Report (Optional)

    3. External worker ID (Optional)

  5. Enter the organizational structure:

    1. Department (Optional)

    2. Teams (Optional)

  6. Select your hiring objective.

Defining role details

  1. Enter the role details:

    1. Role

    2. Seniority level: Select the appropriate level for this role

    3. Scope of work

      1. Provide a summary of duties, accountabilities, and expectations

      2. You may use one of our pre-populated job scope templates or create your own.

  1. Define whether the contract will be paid at a fixed rate or per task

    1. Fixed rate:

      1. Select the currency

      2. Enter the payment amount

      3. Select the payment frequency

    2. Per task:

      1. Select the currency

  2. Add additional recurring payments (Optional).

  3. Select the invoice policy.

  4. Add projects: Assign projects with different rates to manage and view the breakdown of the submitted weeks per project.

  5. Select the worker’s start and end date (if the contract is for a set period).

  6. Select the first payment date.

  7. Add additional on-target payments (Optional).
