How to Calculate Employee Cost

Overview

When hiring through Aspire EOR, your total cost includes the employee's salary, mandatory employer contributions, platform fees, and a refundable security deposit. This guide explains each component and shows you how to calculate costs using our in-app calculator.


Using the Employee Cost Calculator

Calculate your estimated costs before creating a contract:

  1. Log in to your Aspire account

  2. Click "Employer of record" in the left navigation bar.

  3. Click "Go to Aspire EOR".

  4. Navigate to the "People" tab.

  5. Click "Add People".

  6. Select "Worker Cost Calculation".

  7. Fill in the worker cost calculator table:

    1. Under worker type, select "Employee - EOR".

    2. Add the worker's country of employment.

    3. Select the currency for calculation.

    4. Add the gross annual salary.

    5. Add additional information: Mandatory or optional, depending on the employment country.

  8. Click "Calculate Cost".

  9. To view the total cost breakdown, click "View details".

The calculator provides the monthly employment breakdown :

  • Gross monthly salary

  • Employer costs

  • Benefits admin and contribution

  • Severance accrual

  • Management fees

Use this calculator to budget accurately before committing to a contract. If you're ready to create a contract, simply click "Create contract".

Note:

  • Calculations are estimated figures based on a country’s local taxation and compliance costs. The net payment and employer contribution may change based on a worker’s personal data

  • The employment cost is displayed in USD. Click "View cost in local currency" to display the cost in the local currency of the employment country.


Understanding Total Employee Cost

When hiring through Aspire EOR, your total cost consists of three components:

Employee Gross Salary

The agreed-upon salary you'll pay to the employee, in their local currency.

Employer Costs

Country-specific mandatory contributions that employers must pay. These vary by country and may include:

  • Social security contributions

  • Pension or retirement fund contributions

  • Healthcare or insurance premiums

  • Unemployment insurance

  • Other statutory benefits

Note: Employer costs are not Aspire's fees; they are legal requirements in the employee's country of employment.

EOR Platform Fee

Aspire's EOR platform fee starts from USD 399 per employee per month.
