Why does my transaction show as 'pending' and not settled?
Card transactions go through two stages: clearing and settlement. When you make a purchase, the amount is reserved against your charge account (clearing). The transaction is fully settled — and appears as final — when your bank and the merchant's bank complete the exchange, which typically takes 1–3 business days.
Can my card be declined?
Yes. Your card may be declined if your available advance limit has been reached (i.e. your outstanding spend plus the new transaction would exceed your limit), or if the card has been frozen or your charge account cancelled.
What happens if a transaction is refunded or reversed?
Refunds and reversals are processed at the relevant stage — auth, clearing, or settlement — depending on when the reversal is initiated. Partial and full reversals are supported. Your charge account balance will be updated accordingly once the reversal is processed.
