You can link your corporate USD bank accounts to Aspire and fund your Aspire checking account seamlessly. Aspire uses Plaid to facilitate this linking process.
Eligibility
Only Admin users can take account linking-related actions (link/delink a new bank account, refresh action on an expired linking)
What You Need to Know Before Linking
Corporate bank accounts owned in the name of the entity onboarded to Aspire are allowed for linking. Personal accounts cannot be linked.
Only banks that support Plaid Auth (instant) can be linked; check the list here. If your bank doesn’t support it, account linking is not available at this time.
After linking, your account will go through a verification process. You will see one of the following statuses:
Status | What It Means |
Processing | Aspire is verifying account ownership. |
Connected | Your account is verified and ready for initiating debits. |
Rejected | Ownership verification was not successful. |
Disconnected | Account linking via Plaid needs to be refreshed. |
How to Link an External Bank Account
Click "Receive money" on your USD checking account
2. Click "Link external account."
3. The Plaid connection flow will be initiated. Follow the on-screen prompts to select your bank and authenticate your external account.
4. Once Plaid authentication is complete, your linked account will appear in your account listing with a status of Processing.
5. Aspire will verify account ownership. Once approved, the status will update to Connected and you can begin initiating ACH debits.
Viewing Linked Account Details
Once linked, your external account will appear as part of your main account listing. Click on the linked account to view its details page, where you can:
Initiate an ACH debit - for accounts in Connected status
Refresh the Plaid connection - for accounts in Disconnected status
Unlink a connected account - removes the account from Aspire
Refreshing a Disconnected Account
If your linked account shows a disconnected status, the Plaid connection needs to be refreshed. This can happen when your bank login credentials change or when Plaid's access token expires.
You will be notified 7 days before the Plaid token expires, with a prompt to refresh. If the token expires without being refreshed, the linked account will be disabled and show an Error status.
