Receiving IRAS Tax Refunds via Telegraphic Transfer (TT)

How to request an IRAS tax refund via Telegraphic Transfer (TT) into your Aspire SGD account, including the form, bank details to use, and what to expect.

This FAQ helps clients understand how to request IRAS tax refunds via Telegraphic Transfer (TT) into their Aspire account and what information is needed along the way.

Receiving a tax refund via TT is a special arrangement that requires prior approval from IRAS. If you haven't already been approved, you'll need to submit the request form directly to IRAS.

How do I get the TT refund request form?

Head to IRAS's Tax Refunds page and pick the option that applies to you:

Your situation

What to do

Individual or sole-proprietor

Log in via Singpass

Company

Log in via Corppass

No Singpass/Corppass access

Use the Authorisation Form for Telegraphic Transfer (online form on the same page)

What do I fill in for the "Refund via Telegraphic Transfer" bank details section?

When you reach the bank details section of the form, use your Aspire SGD local account details:

Bank Account Holder's Name

Important: the form may include a note saying refund requests won't be processed if the TT is going to an SGD Current or Savings account in Singapore — please disregard this note.

On the uploading of supporting documents, please upload the proof of your Aspire SGD account at the ‘Bank Statement/ Bank Letter section’:

  1. Follow the steps in this Aspire help article to download your SGD local account details letter (click on the Download PDF option).

  2. Upload the downloaded document to the form as your supporting bank statement/letter.

What else should I know?

  • Processing time: IRAS typically processes refund requests within 4–6 weeks after receiving your completed form.

  • Charges: Telegraphic transfers incur bank charges and may be subject to exchange rate differences — these will be borne by you.

  • Currency availability: if your requested currency isn't available, the refund will be sent in USD, and you'll bear any related bank charges or FX losses.

  • Minimum refund amount: refunds below SGD 100 will not be processed via TT. They'll be retained in your tax account to offset future tax liabilities. To receive a refund below SGD 100, contact IRAS directly.

IRAS confirms the transfer was sent, but I haven't received the funds — what now?

If it's been more than 4–6 weeks and IRAS confirms the transfer was successfully sent, but the funds haven't shown up in your Aspire account, please reach out to Aspire support so we can investigate on our end.
