No. Currently, Aspire does not support Verification of Payee (VoP) for EUR transfers to recipients in SEPA countries.
What is Verification of Payee (VoP)?
Verification of Payee is a name-checking service introduced by the European Payments Council. When you send a transfer, VoP verifies that the recipient's name matches the account holder's name before the payment is processed. This helps prevent misdirected payments and reduces fraud.
How does this affect me?
If you're sending EUR transfers from Aspire
Your transfers will be processed as usual, but the recipient's name will not be verified before sending.
If you're receiving EUR transfers to your Aspire account
Some payment providers require VoP to be enabled on the recipient's account. If your sender uses a provider with this requirement, they may be unable to complete the transfer to your Aspire account.
Will Aspire support VoP in the future?
Yes, we plan to enable VoP support in the future. We understand how important this feature is for secure and seamless transfers.
In the meantime, if VoP is critical for your business operations, you can submit a product feature request to help us prioritize this enhancement.
