Tap to Pay enables your business to accept in-person payments using contactless cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay directly into your Aspire SGD account.
Before You Start
To collect payments with Tap to Pay, please make sure you have:
Stripe integration completed: If you haven't set up Stripe yet, follow our setup guide first.
The right access level: You'll need Admin or Finance user permissions to use this feature.
A compatible device: An Android mobile device with NFC payment capability.
Understanding of currency handling:
Payments will be deposited directly into your Aspire SGD account.
Your customers can pay in any currency they prefer.
Their payment provider will handle the currency conversion automatically, and you'll always receive the funds in SGD.
Collecting Payments via Tap to Pay
Admin and Finance users can collect in-person payments by using the Tap to Pay feature:
On your Aspire mobile app, click "Menu" and choose "Receive via Tap to pay".
Enable location access and NFC on your device (if not already enabled).
Click "Collect payment".
Enter payment details:
Payment amount
Description (Optional)
Add or select an existing customer (Optional)
Click "Collect payment".
Have your customer tap their contactless card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay on your device.
Settlement Time
Payments are confirmed instantly.
Funds are credited to your Aspire SGD account within T+3 or T+7, depending on your Stripe account configuration.
Payment Fees
Aspire does not charge any fees for using Tap to Pay. All transaction fees are charged by Stripe.
Fee structure: 3.5% + SGD 0.65 per transaction.
Stripe deducts fees before settling funds to your Aspire SGD account.
Example calculation:
Collection amount: SGD 50.00
Stripe fee: (SGD 50.00 × 3.5%) + SGD 0.65 = SGD 2.40
Amount you receive: SGD 47.60
Payment Limits
Minimum: SGD 0.50
Maximum: SGD 999,000,000
Troubleshooting Tap to Pay Payments
Pending Payment
If a payment shows as pending:
Click "Refresh status" and wait for a few minutes.
Do not retry immediately, as this may create duplicate charges.
Only retry once the payment status shows as failed
Failed Payment
If a payment fails:
