Where is my incoming PayNow Transfer?

Updated this week

Paynow transfers are typically instant. If your PayNow transfer has not arrived, follow the steps below to identify the possible cause and next steps.

  1. Confirm how the transfer was sent
Was the transfer sent to your Aspire VPA/QR Code or to your UEN?

    1. Sent to your VPA or QR Code

      1. Is it a reasonably large transfer?

        1. Yes: Large transfers may take 1–2 additional working days to process.

          1. Why might it be delayed?

            1. Transfers can be held for compliance checks to meet MAS regulations and anti-fraud requirements.

            2. Aspire may request supporting documents (e.g., invoices) to verify the transfer.

          2. When was the transfer made?

            1. Before 6 pm on a working day: Reviewed the same day, released the next working day.

            2. After 6 pm on a working day, or on a weekend/public holiday: Reviewed the next working day, released the day after review.

        2. No: The transaction has likely encountered a timeout/ connection breakdown.

          1. Flow of funds during timeout:

            1. In such cases, the amount is briefly deducted from the sender’s account, then reversed within seconds.

            2. Funds never reach Aspire’s PayNow partner (Liquid Group) from the sending bank.

            3. Liquid Group does not send money over to Aspire’s client account

          1. Guideline from The Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS)

            1. Association of Banks Singapore (ABS) advises merchants not to rely on the sender’s payment screenshot as confirmation of successful receipt of funds.

            2. Merchants should always sight the funds in their account first, before releasing goods & services to the sender.

    2. Sent to your UEN

      1. Aspire’s PayNow service is provided through our partner, Liquid Group, which is a Non-Bank Financial Institution (NFI).

        1. VPA/VPA-linked QR Codes – Unique PayNow receiving addresses that NFIs like Liquid Group are authorised to issue.

        2. UEN/UEN-linked QR Codes – Unique PayNow receiving addresses that only banks can issue.

      2. Because Aspire offers PayNow through our NFI partner, we do not issue UEN receiving addresses for PayNow. We only support receiving funds via your Aspire VPA or VPA-linked QR Code.

      3. If your sender used your UEN instead of your VPA, the funds may have landed in another bank account linked to that UEN.
