Can I Request a 10-Digit Account Number for My SGD Account?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Yes, you can request to create a new Local SGD Account with a 10-digit account number. This will allow you to receive payments from providers that only support 10-digit account numbers.

Important Considerations

  • Requesting a 10-digit account number will permanently close your existing 12-digit SGD Local Account. Aspire will replace it with a new 10-digit account. This means:

    • Your current 12-digit account number will no longer be active

    • Saved recipient details linked to the SGD account will be removed

    • You'll need to update your account details with any parties sending you payments

    • This change cannot be reversed

  • A 10-digit account number will not work to receive payments from Vendors@Gov, as it does not support payments to virtual accounts, including Aspire accounts.

What happens to my existing balance?

Any remaining balance in your 12-digit SGD account will be transferred to your new 10-digit account once it’s created.

How to Request a 10-Digit Account Number for Aspire SGD Account

Contact our Support team through the Aspire app, and we'll assist you in creating your new 10-digit SGD account.

Notes: Creating an SGD Account directly in-app will generate a standard 12-digit account number.
